Lori (Rice) Taylor, 59, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, November 18, 2023.

She was born October 17, 1964, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Jerry and Delta (Mayfield) Rice.

She graduated from Topeka High School in 1983. She later took classes at Washburn University and K-State.

Lori worked for the State of Kansas serving in several departments over 30 years. Prior to working for the state, she worked at K-Mart.

She loved to bowl. In her younger years, Lori would race quarter midgets. She was proud to take home the title of champion of the quarter midget races one year.

Lori loved her family fiercely. They meant the absolute world to her. She also loved her dogs, especially her German Shepherd Ranger.

She was a member of Family of God Church in Topeka.

Lori married Charles Taylor on November 5, 2001 in Topeka, Kansas. He preceded her in death on October 23, 2022.

Survivors include her daughters, Shelby (Reilly Ousdahl) Rouse and Cheyenne (Austin Beine) Rouse; grandson, Grayson Oushdahl and brother, Shaun Rice; mother, Delta Rice. She was preceded in death by father, Jerry Rice; sister, Stacy Rice; and her beloved husband Charles Taylor.

Cremation is planned. The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 27, 2023 at Parker-Price Funeral Home 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka, KS 66608. Private family burial will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery in Topeka.
