Wilma June Kratina, 97, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2023.

She was born June 2, 1926, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of William M. and Hannah E. (Schaefer) Hotzel. She was a graduate of Capitol Catholic High School.

Wilma and her husband owned and operated farms and rental properties in the Topeka and Delia, Kansas areas.

She was a member of Moose Lodge No.555.

Wilma married Ernest L. Kratina, Sr. on May 3, 1944 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on April 14, 2009. Survivors include four daughters: Carol A. Harris of Topeka, Linda K. Ross (Gary) of St. Louis, MO, Sharon E. Brehm (Doug) of Topeka, and Cynthia S. Schreiner of Topeka; 8 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren and one expected.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Bradley G. Kratina and Dr. Ernest L. Kratina, Jr.; and a brother in infancy.

Wilma loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed music, dancing, baby calves and traveling.

Wilma will lie in state from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Sunday, September 10, 2023, at the Parker Price Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, KS 66608.

A graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 11, 2023, at Prairie Home Cemetery, NW 35th & Menoken Road, Topeka.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to TARC, 1800 SW 42nd, Topeka, KS 66609 or to Midland Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606.
