Duane D. Benton, 93, of Topeka, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023. He was born September 28, 1929 in Topeka, the son of Stephen and Mildred (Dinkle) Benton.

Duane graduated from Highland Park High School in 1947. He was employed by Adams Business Forms as a Pressman for 43 years before retiring. He was a member of the Brush Busters Horse Club, the Motorcycle Ironbutt Association Club and the AMA (American Motorcycle Association).

Duane married Phyllis Mathews on November 21, 1951 in Topeka. She preceded him in death on March 21, 2013. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Frank.

Survivors include children, Darrell (Jude) Benton of Topeka, Dwight Benton of Meriden, Janet Benton of Houston, Texas, seven grandchildren, David, Darren (Cassie), Melanie, Amber, Dustin, Jessica (Kevin) and Jackie (Jason) twenty-two great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and his siblings, Charlie Benton and Ed Benton.

A Celebration of Duane's Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Parker-Price Funeral Home. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the organization of the donor’s choice.
