Marjorie Doreen McDaniel, 98, of Silver Lake, passed away on March 9, 2023 at Oakley Place of Rossville.

She was born on September 28, 1924 to Vince and Mary Martinek (Dvorak) in Topeka, Kansas.

Marjorie graduated from Silver Lake High School. She worked as a secretary for USD #372 for over 25 years before retiring.

On September 28, 1944, she married William M. McDaniel. Together they had two children.

She was a member of Rebekah Lodge and the Silver Lake United Methodist Church.
Marjorie enjoyed cooking, sewing, and fishing in her younger years. She was known for her positive attitude and for the way she cared about others, especially "her kids" at the Silver Lake High School. Marjorie was extremely active with the Silver Lake High School. She was very proud of the way she would keep the record books balanced. Marjorie will always be remembered for her smile when people would walk through the door.

Marjorie is survived by her children, JoAnne Glanz and Gary (Sherry) McDaniel; 3 grandchildren, Chris (Heather) Glenn, Angi (Ryan Quincy) Glenn, and Jay (Kathryn) McDaniel; and 3 great grandchildren, Liam Quincy, London Quincy, and Freya Glenn.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William M. McDaniel; brothers, Marvin Martinek and Melvin Martinek; and both of her parents.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023, 1:00 pm at the Silver Lake United Methodist Church, Silver Lake, Kansas.
Family will greet friends one hour prior at 12:00 pm.

Graveside Service will follow at the Walnut Hill Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Silver Lake Senior Center, sent to 404 E Lake St, Silver Lake, KS 66539 in Marjorie's name.
