Michael G. “Mike” Emerson, 78, Topeka, passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at a local hospital.

Mike was born July 18, 1944 in Haysville, the son of Cecil and Georgia (Greep) Emerson. He attended Haysville High School.


He served in the Kansas Army National Guard for 23 years, retiring in 1985.
He worked at Security Benefit Life as a printer for 22 years and later Mainline Printing. He also worked security for Topeka Civic Theatre for 19 years.

He was a member of American Legion Post No. 1 where he served as Legion Commander.

He enjoyed fishing and coin collecting.

Mike married Lola May Clevenger and they later divorced. Survivors include sons, Terry Emerson, Larry Emerson, both of Rossville; daughter, Michelle Fenoglio, Topeka; grandchildren, T. J., Klinton and Tawni; and sister, Susan Seachord, Topeka.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at the Parker-Price Funeral Home, 245 NW Independence. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post No. 1.
