Gwendolyn Irene Ables, 87, of Topeka, passed away on October 27, 2022 at University of Kansas Health System - St. Francis Campus.

She was born on September 19, 1935 to Lee Roy and Mary (Pusch) Wroth in Topeka, Kansas.

Gwendolyn attended Topeka High School and worked as a homemaker for most of her life, raising and supporting her children and family.

On September 22, 1951, she married Ernest James Ables. He precedes her in death.

She enjoyed playing card games with her family and friends. Gwendolyn was the best grandma that any grandchild could ask for. She loved to spoil them to no end. She also liked to plant flowers and then have her children come and tend to them. Gwendolyn was an avid traveler and go to places like, Texas, The Grand Ole Opry, and Daytona Beach watching the NASCAR races. She loved to listen to old country and gospel music and her favorite artist was Marty Robbins.

Gwendolyn is survived by her children, Larry (Jeanie) Ables, Jimmie (Beccy) Ables, Susan (Eddie) Ross, and Gary Ables, sister, Anna Tetuan; 10 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren

She was preceded in death by both of her parents; and son, Earnest "Butch" E. Ables, Sr.

Visitation where family will greet friends will be on Sunday, November 6 from 3:00 pm- 5:00 pm at Parker-Price Cremations, Funerals & Receptions.
Graveside service will be held on Monday, November 7 at 10:00 am at Prairie Home Cemetery.
