Helen Caroline Holt, 86, of Topeka, passed away on August 25, 2022 at Midland Care.

She was born on July 16, 1936 to Edward and Viola (Schwanke) Schlodder in Delia, Kansas.

Helen attended Topeka High School and graduated in 1954. She worked for Hallmark Card and Seymour Foods Inc. and the Caper Foundation. Helen then worked as a manager for the USD 501 school district in the food service department for 28 years before retiring.

On June 29, 1958, she married John A. Holt in Topeka, Kansas. Together they had 3 children.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Topeka. Helen was very involved within the Topeka community, helping as a Girl Scout troop leader, Cub Scout den mom, and many activities with her church. She loved to sew, crafting, ceramics, and gardening. She was known for her blankets and quilts for the nursing home and especially the doll clothing she made for her family.

Helen is survived by her loving children Charles E. (Colette) Holt, David (Janell) Holt, and Carolyn (Craig) Schiefelbein; sister, Wilma Keim; Grandchildren, Jenny (Brian) Winchell, C.J. (Cheyenne Pitmon) Holt, Elizabeth (Robert) Calvo, Rachel Schiefelbein, and Cody Holt; Great Grandchildren, Karmyn, Landyn, Ava, Logan, Nate, Lucas, Jacob, Anthony, and one on the way.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Holt; her father, Edward Andy Schlodder, mother, Viola Daisy Schlodder, and step father, Fred Koci.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 1, 2022, 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Parker-Price Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Topeka, Kansas.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 2, 2022, 10:00 am at the Mount Hope Cemetery & Funeral Chapel, in Topeka, Kansas.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Topeka Lutheran School.
