Vada Ina Mae (Pelton) Adams, 90, of Topeka passed away at home on June 29, 2022. She was born April 23, 1932 in Bucklin, Kansas the daughter of Ethel (McDonald) Pelton and Harold Pelton.

She grew up in Kansas moving several times before her parents settled in Ozawkie where she attained and graduated from Ozawkie High School in 1950. After high school she started working at the National Bank of Topeka which launched her career in banking, working in many different banks and many different states as she always traveled with her husband who was in the military. After Bill's retirement they settled back to Topeka, KS and Vada continued working in banking, retiring from Kaw Valley State Bank of Topeka in 1994. While in high school she met and fell in love and married the man of her life. Married to Billie (Bill) Adams on September 16, 1951. To this union were born a son Terrance (Terry) Adams (deceased) and a daughter Cheryl (Sherry) of Topeka Kansas, both being born in Honolulu, Hawaii while Bill was serving his career (21 years) in the Air Force.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years and nine months, Bill; her daughter, Cheryl (Sherry) Adams; three grandsons, Cory (Jessica) Francis, Topeka KS, Erik Smith, Manhattan KS, and Adam (Morgan Jolly) Smith, Topeka KS; one granddaughter, Katie Smith, Topeka KS; four great-grandchildren, Ellouise Francis, Amelia Francis, Wyatt Francis and Noah Smith.

She was preceded in death by a son, Terrence (Terry) Adams; sister, Joan Brown; her parents Ethel and Harold Pelton; she also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, and nephews..

Vada's greatest love in her life was her husband Bill, her son and daughter, her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved raising her family. Vada had many interests she enjoy, a few being water skiing, playing cards with friends and family and the 38+ years of square and round dancing with the TopKan Twirlers club.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 7, 2022 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Parker Price Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be Friday, July8, 2022 at 10:00 am at Parker Price Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Meriden Cemetery.
