Mary Ellen (Martin) Huey, 97, of Topeka passed away on Monday, June 13th, at McCrite Plaza. She was born September 19th, 1924 in Topeka, KS, the daughter of Charles D. and Nellie Gray Ward Martin. She attended Wallace District #21 grade school and graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1942.

She worked for National Biscuit Co., Santa Fe Railroad, and worked 17 years for Topeka U.S.D. 501 schools and 5 years for the Seaman School District, until she retired in 1985.She was a member of Westside Christian Church and a 50 year member of Beulah Chapter - Order of the Eastern Star. She was married to Charles R. Huey on March 30th, 1947 in Topeka at the North Topeka Baptist Church, Charles preceded her in death on December 13th, 2000. Also preceding her in death was her son, Dean T. Huey.

Survivors include a daughter, Betty J. Greiner, of Topeka, Kansas, a daughter-in-law, Pat Huey, three grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 22nd, from 6pm-7pm at Parker-Price Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 7pm. Memorial Contributions can be made to Westside Christian Church, or Beulah Chapter - Order of the Eastern Star.
