Sonia Sylvia Lewis, 72, of Topeka, passed away Monday, January 10, 2022.
She was born December 5, 1949, in Buffalo, New York, the daughter of Clarence L. and Ruth G. (Ireland) Irish.
Sonia was employed by KNI in Topeka for over 30 years until retiring.
Sonia married Albert Lewis, Sr. on September 7, 1965 in Topeka, Kansas. He survives in Topeka. Other survivors include two daughters, Ruby (Gary) Tate and Terri Fields, all of Topeka; her son, Albert (Angie) Lewis, Jr., of Osage City, KS; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Edna Marn and Gertrude White both of Topeka; two brothers, Clarence Irish of Topeka and Ted (Jane) Irish of Kansas City, KS; and several nieces, nephews and cousins..
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Loran K. Irish and Virginia Turner; and her brother, Loren B. Irish.
Sonia was a Hamm Radio Operator who enjoyed spending with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed fishing, and watching TV.
Honoring her request, cremation is planned. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Please check back for more information.
