Corporal Richard May, 90, of Topeka, passed away on August 24, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born on November 8, 1930 to Ellis and Cecil Hycil-Reed May in Kansas City, KS.

Richard worked as a Millwright for Goodyear for 25 years before retiring.

On February 27, 1951, he married Evelyn G May (Robb). Together they were married for 61 years. Richard and Evelyn lived in Topeka, Kansas.

He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Topeka, he was a member of the Masonic Lodge, and a member of Post 400. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was avid fisherman and outdoorsman and loved to dance to classic country music with his girlfriend Geri Moore. They were together for over 8 years, where she never left his side.

Richard is survived by his children, Randy May, Mickey (Debi) L May, Joan (Lewie) Tucker Hunt, Russell (Laurie) D. May; 8 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren; and siblings Lee Benford and Robert May.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents; Wife, Evelyn G May; Son, Mark R May; Brothers, Ellis May, Jr., David May, and Sister, June May.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 27, 2021, 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Parker-Price Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Topeka, Kansas.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021, 1:00 pm at the First Assembly of God Community Church in Topeka, Kansas. Graveside Service will take place at Prairie Home Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the Topeka Rescue Mission.
