Frank L. Degan, 62, of Topeka, passed away Monday, July 26, 2021.

He was born September 24, 1958, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of John and Luella (McMahon) Degan. He attended Topeka High School and later went on to complete his GED. He proudly served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged.

Frank obtained an associate’s degree so that he could pursue a career working for KNI. He worked as a health aide for numerous years and later retired.

He was active with the Arab Shrine and the American Legion Post #400 in Topeka.

In his free time, Frank enjoyed working in his home garage as a mechanic, fishing and shooting guns, building and collecting model cars, collecting Cuckoo Clocks, watching WWE wrestling and scary movies, listening to 70’s music, creating bead jewelry, and gardening. His favorite holiday was the 4th of July.

Frank married Theresa V. Bone on October 8, 2016 in Topeka. Survivors include his wife, Theresa V. Degan; children, Kristy (Herman Zausch) R. Degan, Tim (Sunshine) Bone, Samantha Bone, Ben Mestas, Brad (Misty) Bone, and Cecil (Rebecca) Ray Bone; twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; siblings, John Lynn Degan, Carolyn Dodds, Ann Lake, Walter Degan, Lilian Degan, and Pearl Hilton. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, James Degan and Marie Alcala; Daughter, Janet M. Degan; Son, Frank Degan, Jr; and wife, Janet Degan.

A visitation celebrating Frank’s life will be held from 5:00pm-7:00pm on Friday, July 30, 2021 at the Parker Price Reception Center, 1940 NW Central Ave, Topeka, Kansas 66608. A graveside service will be at 11:00am, Monday, August 2, 2021 at Rochester Cemetery, Topeka, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans, 5500 East Kellogg, Room 112, Wichita, KS 67218 .
