Linda Jo Henderson, 71, of Hoyt, passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021.

She was born December 20, 1949 in Marysville, Kansas to Clifford and Ethel (Keefover) Wichman. She was a Topeka High School graduate. In 2007, she retired from the Royal Valley School District where she worked in the cafeteria.

Linda married Don A. Henderson on January 14, 1977, and he survives.

Other survivors include their children, Tammy Erickson (Ricky), Dion Henderson (Monique), Kevin Henderson (Erica), and Angela Humpert (Jake); grandchildren, Steven Richardson (Janel), Travis Richarson (Naomi), Brooke Brennan, Shane Henderson, Karleigh Henderson, Andrew Henderson, Corey Humpert, Kai Yim, Kaitlin Humpert, Zoe Yim, Addison Henderson; several great-grandchildren; and her sister Betty Jo (Bill).

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Gene Wichman; and sister, Sue Wichman.

Linda cherished the outdoors and spending time with her family. Together the family enjoyed camping, hiking, fishing, and watching dirt track races. In her younger years, she spent many weekends at the lake, teaching her daughter Tammy how to water ski.

In her spare time, Linda enjoyed working in her flower gardens, collecting dolls, sewing, and crafting. She also had a passion for cooking and baking, especially special occasion cakes for the family. Her children loved her freshly baked brownies and delicious chili.

A Celebration of her Life will be held at the Parker-Price Reception Center from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 1, 2021.
The center is at 1940 NW Central Ave., Topeka, KS 66608.
Burial of the urn will take place at Prairie Home Cemetery following the reception.
