Sandra Sue “Sandy” Starr, 84, of Topeka, passed away on April 23, 2021.

She was born on November 24, 1936 to Marvin and Ruby (Pennington) Jahn in Topeka, KS.

She attended Topeka High School and then furthered her education at St. Mary’s of the Plains College in Dodge City, KS where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.

Sandy worked as a Registered Nurse for Stormont Vail, St. Francis and Dr. Bickelhaupt prior to her retirement.

On May 25, 1955, she married Allen D. Starr in Waco, TX. Sandy and Allen lived in Topeka, KS. Allen preceded her in death on April 2, 1995.

She was a member of Countryside United Methodist Church of Topeka and the Topeka Fire Auxiliary.

Sandy is survived by her loving daughter, Angela (Vince) Tamerius of Wichita, KS and her eight children, Angel (Dustin) Sisco-Savard of Topeka and Cory, Candace, Cierra, Catrina, Cody, Cheyenne, Cayla Tamerius all of Wichita, KS; two granddaughters, Kasey (David) Jensen of Meriden, KS and Krissy (Chris) Torrez of Topeka, KS; fifteen great grandchildren, Bradley McCollum, Jessica Boyer, Aaliyah Savard, Parker Jensen, Preston Jensen, Kaydence Torrez, Cash Torrez, Cruz Torrez, Liam Tamerius, Kael Tamerius, Wesley Shear, Raiden Shear, Zane Shear, Vincent Arnold, Celestine Arnold two great grand babies on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sons, Timothy M. Starr and Anthony Dale Starr and grandson, Andrew Starr.

Sandy enjoyed shopping, ceramics, crocheting, needle point, gardening, stain glass and jewelry. She was also a Kansas City Chiefs fan and loved KU basketball. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

A visitation will be held Thursday, April 29, 2021 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Parker-Price Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 245 NW Independence, Topeka, KS 66608.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 30, 2021 at 10:00 am at the Parker-Price Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Parker Price Chapel.

Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, 3616 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, KS 66606.
