Brenda Kay Gros, 65, of Topeka, passed away on March 2, 2021 at Stormont Vail Hospital.

She was born on November 11, 1955 to Emmanuel and Wilma (Swafford) Schmidtberger in Topeka, KS.

Brenda served in the United States Army for over three years as a Clerk Typist. She was stationed in Fort Hood, Texas before being honorably discharged.

Brenda worked as a secretary in the food service industry for the State of Kansas for 33 and a half years, where she later retired.

She was very heavily involved in her community and was a member of the Family of God Church in Topeka. Brenda was extremely active in her grandchildren’s lives and activities. She was an avid collector of biblical literature and angel figurines.

Brenda is survived by her Son’s, Ryan (Katie) Pruitt, Mel (Becky) Gros; and Daughter, Natasha Pruitt; Sisters, Connie Pate and Debbie (Billy) Harris; and Brother, John Schmidtberger, Grandchildren Treyton, Loren, Isaiah, Isaac, Cheyenne, Victoria, Lilly, Russell, Kristy, Kylie and Keeton.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence; both of her parents; and Sister, Vicki Traphagen.

Memorial visitation where the family will greet friends will be Thursday, March 11, 2021 from 6:00 - 8:00pm at The Family of God Church. Celebration of Life will be Friday, March 12, 2021 at 1:00pm at The Family of God Church. Private inurnment will follow.
