James “Jim” Johnson, 67, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2020.

He was born April 26, 1953, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Julian Biggs and Thelma (Johnson) Moyer.

He graduated from Bonner Springs High School and attended Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma and Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas.
He was a US Army veteran.
After his honorable discharge from the Army, Jim was a contractor for the Federal Government. In 1991, he came to Topeka and worked for the State of Kansas in information technology, retiring in 2016 as a supervisor.

Survivors include a three siblings, John H. (Rita) Moyer, Doris Trosper, Rosemary (Bill) Selfridge; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Julian Biggs and Thelma (Johnson) Moyer; step-father, Martin Moyer; and his adoptive parents, Paul R. Johnson and Nelle L. Spielman Johnson

Jim enjoyed reading, especially military history and weaponry. He also enjoyed architecture and taking little road trips around the Kansas area.

Private interment will be at Rochester Cemetery in Topeka, Kansas.

A memorial service will be planned for a future date.
