Phyllis J. Higbie, 93, of Topeka, passed away on September 7, 2020.
She was born on July 3, 1927 in Ottawa, KS, the daughter of Frank and Iva Thurman. She attended and graduated from Ottawa High School.
In the fall of 1947 Phyllis married Louis G. Higbie.
Phyllis enjoyed playing cards with friends, spending time with her family, camping trips, and farming. She had a passion for collecting glass and china, and loved going to garage sales to find new pieces. Phyllis also enjoyed traveling, some of her favorite places being New Mexico, Colorado and Canada.
Phyllis is survived by her loving daughter, Kathy (Patrick) Wiles of Topeka; granddaughter, Kristina (Brian) Bradfield of Lawrence; great-granddaughter, Brandi Bradfield of Lawrence; great-grandson, Tyler Bradfield of Lawrence; great-granddaughter, Kaila Bradfield of Lawrence; and great-great-grandson, Ira Rogers.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Louis Higbie.
Phyllis will lie in state at the funeral home on Friday, September 11, 2020 from 12:00p.m. to 4:00p.m.
