William “Bill” L. Bailey, 91, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2020.

He was born October 10, 1928, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Albert and Edith (Allen) Bailey.

Bill married Florine Ann Stohs on November 25, 1951 in Afton, Kansas. Together they had four children.

Bill was employed by Ryder Truck as a diesel mechanic, retiring after 40+ years of service.

Bill enjoyed going country cruisin’, spending time gardening, and cooking. He would cook big Sunday meals for his family and always had wonderful fresh homemade rolls.

Bill is survived by his four children, Richard, Steven, and Randall Bailey, and Shelly (Bailey) Hall; five grandchildren, Daniel, Cameron, Jacob, Sarah, and Dylan; and great-grandchildren, Mila and Caiden. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florine; great-grandson, Cael; parents; and all 10 of his siblings.

A funeral service will be at 10:00AM, on Monday, August 3, 2020, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 901 SW Fillmore Street, Topeka, KS 66606. The family will greet friends an hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery in Topeka.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. John’s Building Maintenance and Enhancement Fund.

Following state mandate, masks are required. The family asks for friends to pay their respects during the visitation time.
