1931 - 2020

Frances L. "Fran" Banks, 88, Tecumseh, passed to join her Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 9, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born May 26, 1931, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of John and Loie (Dachenhausen) Diehl. She graduated from Berryton High School in 1949.

Fran was employed as an insurance processor at Advanced Urology, retiring after 25 years.

She was a member of Meriden Bible Baptist Church.

On August 11, 1951, she married Wayne Russell Banks in Topeka. He preceded her in death in 2005. She was also preceded in death by a daughter Teresa Zeller, four brothers, Jesse "Harold", Paul, Earl, and Edward Diehl and three grandchildren.

Survivors include three children, Kathy (David) Kroenke, Timothy (Debbie) Banks, and Randy Banks; 35 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Fran enjoyed crocheting, sewing, ceramics, and baking and cooking. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed the gatherings for Christmas and other celebrations. She loved singing to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially “You Are My Sunshine”. She will always be remembered for telling her family, “I love you higher than the sky and deeper than the ocean.” Fran had a sweet and spicy spirit and truly loved and cared for others.

Funeral services will be 11am on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at Parker-Price Funeral Home, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be 6-8pm on Monday, May 11, 2020 at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Tecumseh Kiwanis or Harvesters in care of Parker-Price Funeral Home, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, KS 66608.
