Joan L. Prchal, 65, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2020.

She was born August 2, 1954 in Topeka, the daughter of Kermit and Helen (Ashley) Parks. She attended Rochester Elementary, Northern Hills Junior High, and Seaman High School.

Joan loved sunflowers and enjoyed gardening, going for motorcycle rides, bingo, watching TV, taking walks with her brother, and liked being surrounded by her family.

Joan is survived by her children, Shannon (David) Reed of Wichita; Rocky Garcia of Topeka; Dustin (Samantha Pitts) Prchal of Topeka; and Harlie (Justin McNaney) Torbert of Topeka; grandchildren, Jessica (Jude) Schreiner, Joshua Kraus, Katelyn Kraus, Benjamin Kraus, Lillian Reed, Parker Reed, Gage McNaney, Kayce Prchal, Blake Bouton, Kaven Slavens, Noah Garcia, Brody Garcia, Royal Garcia, Silver Garcia, and Golden Garcia; two brothers, Gerald Parks and Richard Parks of Topeka; and sister, Francie Parks.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kermit and Helen Parks; brother, Donald Ray Duffield; sisters, Sue Duffield and Margaret Ruckman; and daughter, Brandi Prchal.

Funeral services will be at 11:00AM on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Parker-Price Funeral Home, 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka. A visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, February 28th at the funeral home. Following graveside services at Prairie Home Cemetery, the family will be holding a potluck dinner at 12:30PM at the Parker-Price Reception Center.
