Paul A. "Mac" McAlister, 92, Topeka, passed away Monday, September 16, 2019.

He was born January 11, 1927, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Arthur and Maude (Armer) McAlister. He served in the Navy during World War II. Mac graduated from Washburn University and its School of Law.

Paul was employed by Aetna Insurance Co. and Allstate Insurance Co., retiring after 35 years.

Mac was a member of Golden Rule Lodge #90 AF & AM, Topeka Scottish Rite Bodies (Thirty-third Degree Inspectors General Honorary), Arab Shriners, Arab Shriners Ritualistic Cast, Order of Quetzalcotl Cholula Teocali No. 8 and Royal Order of Jester, Topeka Court 125.

On June 5, 1949, he married Marjorie Herleman. She survives. Other survivors include three sons David McAlister, Bruce McAlister, and Michael (Debra) McAlister; sister Ava Cooley; four grandchildren Jennifer Welch, Robert McAlister, Sean McAlister, and Derek McAlister; and six great-grandchildren Christina Welch, Michael Welch, Cody Welch, Natalie McAlister, Riley McAlister, and Sutton McAlister.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Don McAlister and sister Opal Fisher.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2019, at Mount Hope Cemetery & Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will follow visitation at 12:00 noon with Rose Croix Service conducted by Topeka Scottish Rite Bodies, Masonic Service by Golden Rule Lodge #90 AF & AM and military honors by the United States Navy.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to the Arab Endowment Fund, 1305 S. Kansas Ave, Topeka, KS 66612.
