James Eugene Flowers, 72, passed away in Topeka on August 26, 2019 at St. Francis hospital.
James was born on October 3, 1946 in Topeka, the son of Harvey and Mary (Creek) Flowers. He graduated from Topeka High. Following high school he attended Washburn Vocational School where he received his degree in welding. In 2011 he retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber after 37 years with the company as a welder.
During his free time James enjoyed auto racing, fishing, hunting and was involved in martial arts.
He was involved in Shriners and would often give away tickets to the Shriners Circus.
James is survived by his two sons, Brad Flowers and James Flowers Junior; grandson, James Eugene Flowers III; siblings, Raymond Flowers, Topeka; Aldred Flowers, Topeka; Michael Flowers, Mayetta; John Flowers, Topeka; Sandara Flowers, Topeka; Cheryl Johnson, Topeka; and Patricia Bigelow, Topeka. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Aaron, Jimmy and Harold Flowers; and one sister, Mary Morgan.
A public visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Parker-Price Cremations, Funerals & Receptions.
