Vanessa Kay Lewis, 53, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, May 12, 2019.
She was born December 24, 1965, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Jerome and Phyllis (Meier) Karle.
She attended Topeka High School. She started working at the age of 15 at Stormont Vail in Nutrition Services. She later moved to Cotton O’Neil in Medical Records at the Urish Clinic at the Registrar. She has worked there for over 35 years.
She was a loving mother, sister, and friend. she was always a fun and positive person, which always made her the life of every party she went too. she loved music and hanging out with her friends. she loved watching shows like dr. phil, oprah, and Ellen. she also loved watching E news and the Kardashians.
Vanessa loved fashion and loved too work at her sister's Clothing store deja nu. when she got off she like too cook some of her favorite, spaghetti. she spent most nights watching tv on her recliner with tillie on her lap. or spent with friends where she'll sing and dance the night away.
Survivors include a son, Christopher Ortiz; brother, Lynn Lewis, sister, Janell Eakin, sister, Gwen Hobbs, brother, Kirk Lewis, and sister, Misti Wright. She was preceded in death by her father, Jerome Lewis and brother, Craig Lewis.
The family will greet friends during a visitation from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 16, 2019 at the funeral home. A Funeral Ceremony will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 17, 2019 at the Parker-Price Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 245 N.W. Independence Avenue, Topeka. Interment will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery, in Topeka.
