Terry Lee Sann, 76, left his earthly body and took the stairway to Heaven Monday April 29, 2019.

Terry was born February 11, 1943, in Kansas City, to Elmer W. and Adena M. (Davis) Sann. He was raised in Topeka in the Oakland area of the city. He graduated from Topeka High School.

Terry was married to Linda (Barnes), they were divorced. Terry is survived by his wife of 41 years Janice I. (Jan)(Harper) Butler; sister, Penny J. Boleski (Marvin); sons, Jeremy L. Sann, David W. Butler both of Topeka, Jim D. Butler, Tonganoxie, KS, Charles L. Sann (Michelle), Naples, FL, Brian T. Sann (Celeste) , San Diego, CA, several grandchildren, great grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Terry lived in the Oakland area almost all his life and it was said about him “You can take the boy out of Oakland but you can’t take the Oakland out of the boy”. He loved to drive around Oakland and reminisce about where his different friends had lived when growing up.

Terry was a machinist at Allis Chalmers. He also worked for Auburn-Washburn USD 437 and Seaman USD 345.

He was a member of Victory City Church, Topeka.

Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 6, 2019 at Rochester Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 3625 SW 29th St #102, Topeka, KS 66614.
