Jan was born December 19, 1950 in Three Rivers, Michigan, daughter of John and Shirley Talmage. Jan was preceded in death by her parents, siblings: Sid Talmage, Tom Talmage, Lonnie Harkness, James Talmage, and Joy Talmage and her fur babies: Curley Sue and Sasha.
She is survived by her husband, Chester Morris of Topeka; her sister, Jerry Marie Kent, her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Jan lived in various locations including Michigan, Oregon, California, Texas and settling in Topeka, Kansas where she married Chester Morris in 1998. Together they have built a life surrounded by those who love them including their fur babies.
Jan worked for TJ’s Bar and Grill and other service industry occupations. Jan was a member of Family of God Church in Topeka, Kansas and then Carbondale Cornerstone Church in Carbondale, Kansas.
Above all, she enjoyed spending time with family, watching it grow in numbers, cherishing each of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, working endlessly to ensure each birthday was remembered and every holiday was perfect.
Jan was blessed with two daughters and two sons as well as two step-daughters.
Lora Reed of California, and her five children Michael, Morgan (Erik), Mark (Becca), Lauren, and Lilly and three great-grandchildren; Sheree Reed of California; Larry Reed of California and his son Christopher; Jerry (Angela) Jenkins and their ten children: Mariah (Trent), Mathias (Cara), MalaKhi (Maddie), Jenna, Mason, MaKayla, Lenny, Liam, Jemma, Mary and four great-grandchildren. Nicole (Earlie Ray) McKnight of Topeka and their children Zebiah, Kuawi and NaKiza Rae. Stephanie Morris of Topeka and their children Devonte and Aaliyah. She was also mom to three fur babies: Jojo, Masha and Oliver.
Jan was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2019 at Parker-Price Cremations, Funerals & Receptions.
