She was born September 14, 1933, in Mayetta, Kansas, the daughter of Charles and Grace (Kennedy) Morrissey. She graduated from Holton High School in 1951.
Grace was employed by Kaw Valley Bank and Northland Department Store, where she had many friends and loyal customers.
She was a member of Mother Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church.
Grace enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Grace married Wayne Forest Bay on May 17, 1952 in Seattle, Washington. He preceded her in death on February 3, 2014. Survivors include three sons and a daughter; Michael Bay (Jackie), Steve Bay (Terry), Randy Bay (Shelly) and Lori Holthaus (Gary); grandchildren: Adam Holthaus (Amber), Courtney Bay, Casey Bay, Andrea Bay, Lindsey Dwyer (Jordan); and a great-grandchild: Riley Wayne Holthaus.
She was preceded in death by her siblings; John Neil Morrissey, Ellen Fahey Farmer, and Marguerite Hale.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 21, 2018 at Mother Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church, 2014 NW 46th Street, Topeka. Interment will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery, in Topeka. Grace will lie In State after 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home; Parker-Price Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka, KS 66608.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice or the family asks that you take a friend or loved one out to dinner in Grace's memory.
