Donald Spencer Rickel, 91, Topeka, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2018.

He was born May 28, 1927, in Hoyt, Kansas, the son of Dennis and Harriet (Woodhead) Rickel. He graduated from Hoyt High School.

Don was employed by Goodyear Tire & Rubber, retiring after 47 years.

He was a member of Topeka Bible Church.

On May 14, 1949 he married Mary E. Kessinger in Topeka. She preceded him in death on September 30, 2018. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, four sisters, two daughters, Cheryl Ribordy and Donna Ellis and one grandson, Matthew Debenham.

Survivors include his daughter, Kathleen Hopeck; three brothers, Roland, Charles and George Rickel; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren

Funeral services will be 10am, Friday, November 30, 2018 at Mount Hope Cemetery & Funeral Chapel, 4700 SW 17th St., Topeka. Entombment will follow. Visitation will be 6-7pm Thursday at Parker-Price Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, 66608.
