Muriel E. Parhomek, 97, of Topeka, passed away at Homestead of Topeka on Sunday, September 23, 2018.

She was born March 11, 1921, in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of Ira and Blanche (Ireton) Zimmerman. She graduated from Wyandotte High School.

Muriel married Michael Parhomek on August 8, 1947 in Leavenworth, KS. He preceded her in death on September 25, 2001.

Muriel was a member of Health Quest 55 through Stormont-Vail Pozez Education Center.
She enjoyed painting and gardening. Muriel participated in many of the activities Homestead of Topeka offered. She loved watching her grandchildren and their activities.

Survivors include son, Michael J. Parhomek, and his wife, Debora; grandchildren, Laurel Parhomek, Chris Parhomek, Kevin Parhomek, and his wife, Kelsey, and their children, Myles and Oliver.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.

Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Mount Hope Cemetery, Topeka, KS.
