She was born January 4, 1937, in Ovalo, Texas, the daughter of Frank and Katherine (Baker) Simpson. She graduated from South Taylor High School and attended McMurry College in Texas.
Dorothy was a homemaker, missionary, and pastor’s wife for many years. She was most recently an active member of Lakeview Church of the Nazarene, teaching Sunday school and supporter of missions. She also lead a Bible study for several years in her home.
Dorothy married Ralph Eugene Cooper on September 8, 1957 in Winters, Texas. He survives. Other survivors include their children, Brenda (Mike) Eubanks, Karen (Paul) Munger and David (Jodi) Cooper; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and step-siblings, Norma Bowman, Bill Murff, and Gene Murff.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Lakeview Church of the Nazarene, 2835 S.E. Croco Road, Topeka. Dorothy will lie in-state 12 noon Friday, September 28, 2018 at Parker-Price Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.
