Don worked at Topeka Transfer and Storage and retired from the City of Topeka as a Water Pollution Control Operator.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Helen (Bolejack) Sumner; two children, Sheryl (Mike) Huerter and Gary (Colette) Sumner; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Bob Mullin; two sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2018, at Parker-Price Cremations, Funerals & Receptions. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606.
