Gary R. Pinger, 82, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2018.
Gary was born September 16, 1935, in Topeka, KS, to Raymond L. and Irene (Mardock) Pinger. He graduated from Topeka High School in 1953. Gary served in the United States Air Force as an airplane mechanic from 1953 to 1957. He worked in the information technology department for the State of Kansas for over 40 years. Gary married Janice E. Hatfield on September 5, 1969.
He is survived by his wife; son, Adam (Amy) Pinger; two grandsons, James and Jackson Pinger; and several nieces and nephews.
Gary was preceded in death by parents and sisters, Sylvia Sholty and Juanita Sackrider.
A graveside service with military honors will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at West Lawn Memorial Gardens, 820 SW Auburn Road, Topeka, KS 66615. The family will greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday at Parker-Price Funeral Home, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, KS 66608.
