Florine was born August 26, 1932, in Bremen, KS, to Ferdinand Henry and Katheran Sophia Louise (Leseberg) Stohs. She graduated from Marysville High School in 1950. Florine moved to Topeka after high school and married William L. Bailey on November 25, 1951 in Afton, KS. Together they had four children and she stayed at home to raise them. After 20 years, she returned to work as a secretary for various insurance businesses. After retiring she loved camping, country cruising, watching her Jayhawks, and cheering on her children and grandchildren in their various sporting activities.
She is survived by her husband; four children, Richard, Steven, and Randall Bailey and Shelly (Bailey) Hall; and five grandchildren, Daniel, Cameron, Jacob, Sarah, and Dylan.
Florine was preceded in death by her great-grandson, Cael Hall; daughter-in-law, Penny Bailey; parents; brothers, Arthur, Herbert, Norman, Leonard, and Reuben Stohs; and sisters, Ellen Jackson and Nelda Flickinger.
A funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 901 SW Fillmore Street, Topeka, KS 66606. Burial will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery, Topeka. The family will greet friends an hour prior to the service at the church.
