Roberta (Chandler) Bergquist, 92, Topeka, passed away Monday, May 7, 2018.

She was born February 6, 1926, in Nemaha County, Kansas, the daughter of Harlan and Breta (Ford) Chandler. She graduated from Seaman High School and attended Clark’s Business College.

Roberta was employed by Lowman United Methodist Church and later Kansas East Conference of United Methodist Church, retiring in 1988.

Mrs. Bergquist was a member of Lowman United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Kansas State Extension Unit of Topeka and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

Roberta married Ralph C. Bergquist on February 12, 1949 in Topeka, KS. He preceded her in death on November 29, 1988. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Leland Chandler and sister, Carolyn Chandler.

Survivors include two children: Dean (Karen) Bergquist, Naperville, IL and Diane (Patrick) Lindeman, Lawrence; sister, Jean Evans, Safford, AZ; three grandsons, Nathan Lindeman, Lawrence, Nicholas (Ashley) Lindeman, Tallahassee, FL and Garrett Bergquist, Columbia, MO and sister-in-law, Nadine Chandler, Topeka.

Roberta enjoyed gardening and her volunteer activities.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 11, 2018 at Lowman United Methodist Church, 4101 SW 15th St., Topeka. Private interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery & Funeral Chapel.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Parker-Price Cremations, Funerals & Receptions.

Memorial contributions may be made to Lowman United Methodist Church or Topeka Rescue Mission, 600 N Kansas Ave, Topeka, KS 66608.
