Jay W. Core, Jr., 90, Topeka, passed away Monday, April 23, 2018.

He was born February 7, 1928, in Eskridge, Kansas, the son of Jay and Lora (Rehrig) Core. He graduated from Eskridge High School. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII.

Jay served as a highway patrolman for 30 years, retiring in February 1, 1983.

Jay married Wanda F. Core on June 1, 1974 in Emporia, Kansas. Survivors include his sons, Jay W. Core, III; David S. Core; Scott T. Core; step-daughters, Juanita (Mark) Dolsky; Linda Carreno; Connie Hartford and Tracy Burnett; eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Steven W. Core.

Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Parker-Price Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Eskridge Cemetery.
