Bert was born August 29, 1956, in Topeka, KS, to Robert Eugene and Myrtle Darlene (Hobbs) Palmer. He graduated from Seaman High School in 1975 where he met and married his high school sweetheart, Vicky Essman. Together they had two children, Robert and Zack. They later divorced but remained friends. He retired as a tire builder at Goodyear Tire and Rubber after 33 years.
He is survived by his son, Robert “RC” Palmer; granddaughter, Saige M. Huhs; two sisters, Darlene Allen and Bonnie (Rick) Stillie; ex-wife, Vicky Reis; and several nieces and nephews.
Bert was preceded in death by his son, Zackary R. Palmer in 2009 and his parents.
A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 13, 2018, at Parker-Price Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, KS 66608. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date at Silver Lake Cemetery. The family will greet friends an hour prior to the service at the Parker-Price Reception Center.
