Ralph Paul Spellmeier

Ralph Paul Spellmeier, 70, Hoyt, Kansas, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2018.

Ralph was born May 16, 1947, the son of Marvin and Pauline Puvogel Spellmeier. He graduated from Fairview High School in 1965, and attended Highland Junior College. On June 3, 1967, Ralph and Mary Lou Heinen were united in marriage at St. Mary’s Church, Purcell, Kansas, enjoying more than 50 years together.

Ralph worked at Hydra Tool and then Goodyear Tire and Rubber, retiring after 41 years of service. Ralph was a member of Mother Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Council No. 534 and the United Steel Workers.

Ralph is survived by his wife Mary; daughter: Stacey (Tommy) Wray of Topeka; son: Jonathan (Jade) of Goodland and four granddaughters: Kaylee, Kenzie, Madalyn and Maisel. He is also survived by siblings: Roger, Reuben, and Rebecca. Ralph was preceded in death by his brother, Robert.

Ralph will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Monday, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and a Rosary will be prayed at 8:00 PM.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at Mother Teresa of Calcutta Church. Burial will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery, NW 35th and Menoken Road, Topeka.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mother Teresa of Calcutta Church, 2014 NW 46th, Topeka, KS 66618.
