Margie Rose Hildenbrand, 83, Topeka, passed away Monday, February 12, 2018 at McCrite’s.

She was born July 16, 1934, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Lawrence, Kansas, the daughter of Edwin and Rosa (Roller) Hildenbrand. She attended Deer Creek Rural Grade School in Douglas County, graduated from Lecompton High School in 1952 and earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Washburn University in 1980.

Margie worked briefly at Lawrence Memorial Hospital from 1952 until 1955 and Santa Fe Railway from1955 until 1956. In 1956, she began working at Southwestern Bell retiring as Manager of Business Customer Equipment Engineering on December 31, 1989.

She was a member of Stull Church of Christ, a lifetime member of Lecompton Historical Society and Telephone Pioneers.

Margie is survived by numerous cousins.

Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel, funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Stull Cemetery.
